CROWNS

The indications for the use of a crown over the years have changed due to the major advances in porcelain technology. Sometimes a tooth is either weakened or damaged by decay, fractures or chipped or more importantly has a root canal therapy and these cases it becomes necessary for these teeth to be restored with a crown (sometimes referred to as a cap).

A crown is a permanent restoration that covers and restores the remaining tooth structure which will then look and function like a natural tooth.

BRIDGES

A bridge, in essence is designed to restore the gap left from the loss of one or more teeth by utilising the adjacent teeth for support.
This is achieved by crowning the teeth either side of the desired area to be closed. The bridge's interconnecting substructure is custom made to match the lost tooth structure and is created naturally to blend with the surrounding dentition.
